Overview
OnlyTons is a product-centric, broker-intermediated B2B platform for organic and traceable food trade. It digitizes the coordination role of an organic agri-food broker in Puglia: buyers don't just source spot supply, they plan and secure future supply against real agricultural cycles — availability windows and forward harvests — and the broker is a party to every deal.
The problem
Organic and traceable food is traded on relationships and timing. A buyer who needs 15 tonnes of organic chickpeas in September can't simply "add to cart" — that supply doesn't exist yet as finished stock. It exists as a forward promise: a producer whose fields will be harvested inside a window that overlaps the buyer's need. Coordinating those promises — checking certifications, aggregating several producers to fill one order, keeping provenance intact, and protecting the broker's role in the relationship — is skilled human work.
OnlyTons makes that work legible, repeatable, and fast, without removing the broker from the middle of it.
The core stance: the broker is in every deal
OnlyTons is deliberately not a marketplace where buyers and sellers transact directly. Every deal is coordinated by the broker, and the platform is built to keep it that way (this is called anti-disintermediation):
- The broker is a structural party to every deal.
- Sensitive prices posted "on request" are hidden from other organizations — negotiation routes through the broker.
- Internal broker notes on a deal are never visible to the buyer or supplier.
See Roles & permissions and Deals for how this is enforced.
What you can do
- Producers & processors publish supply — offers of availability, often for a future harvest window, with pricing and (where relevant) an organic certification. See Supply.
- Buyers & processors publish demand — what they need, by when, and to what standard (e.g. "must be organic"). See Demand.
- The broker sees all sides. From a demand, the broker opens a matching workspace that ranks candidate supply, aggregates several producers when needed, and creates a deal.
- Inside the deal room, the broker drives the deal through a pipeline (inquiry → … → closed), with a shared timeline the parties see and internal notes only the broker sees. Delivered goods carry a provenance chain.
- The broker measures the business on a dashboard: value coordinated, fees, and where deals leak.
Who uses it
OnlyTons has two kinds of account:
- Broker — Alessio and any future coordinators. God-mode: sees everything, drives matching and deals, curates the catalog, verifies organizations.
- Organization user — belongs to exactly one organization. What they can do depends on that organization's capabilities (producer / processor / buyer).
